Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
is a Montessori-style program used for the catechesis of young children, helping them to develop full, active participation in the life of the Church as they grow. It is not a classroom-style method, but rather more like a retreat setting in which different presentations are given to the children involving various points of the Catholic faith.
Q: What is Montessori?
The Level I atrium is geared for children in grades Pre-K and K. In this space, children come to learn many of the parables given in Scripture that reveal who God is. More information about the use of the parables in this format can be found here: All About the Atrium: Parables
The "atrium" is the space reserved for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd presentations. More information about where this name comes from can be found here: All About the Atrium: What is the Atrium?
